Not to quibble, but you might take more care with the tape measure next time.

I am constantly surprised at how fish that I think look legal need to be returned to the water when the tapes puts 'em over 27".

Had one over 27", 3 between 26-27" and a 24" that I kept on the stringer. Doesn't make much sense to me to come in with too many oversize fish. Good advice none the less.
