One Eye Ed of Cajun Odesy charters had an offshore trip that canceled due to weather. I got hold of Clint Stewart and we put together a 2 boat trip. 3 people on each boat. We met a little after 7 and headed down river. Our first place was dirty as heck but we fished it hard. Clint's boat picked up a few redfish and we could not even get one interested. We did find 3 of these goodies and quickly invited them to dinner.
It was already 11:30 and I did not see a redfish. Clint had 7 or so and his bite had also stopped. We decided to run to another place that I almost went to first. Once there the water was a lot different. With it about noon and the sky getting darker we do something a lot different.
We finally got to see what a redfish looked like first hand. The entire day was a slow pick.
We only put a few in the box before the rain started hitting us and the rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance. Just when fishing started getting better. We stretched it until the customers on Clint's boat called it due to the weather.
I gave my boat the option of staying but they came together and we went back together. 2 miles from the jump Clint's motor acts up so I towed him back. Looks like a fuel problem. He gets his fuel all over so who knows.
We ended up with a good amount of fish when we combined them at the dock. My boat only had 7 reds and 2 were shorts before they called the trip. Although it was a slow day we did leave them biting. We all had our fill of the winds and rain.
Life is Good!
Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
