I don't know why boat manufacturers even put speedometers' in the dash. They are useless as all get out. That hole stays clogged up anyway. I removed my speedo gauge and put in a flush mount compass in its place. That way if the GPS goes out I still have a compass at least.

True dat, mine hasnt worked a year. Why look at inaccurate info. Going to put a stereo in.
