Do you catch a lot in a 8" net ?

I previously threw a 5' old salt or those blue nets at academy. I bought a net from david blood. he talked me to using an 8 footer after watching me throw. I am a big guy and he said I was too strong for a 6" I catch much more bait with his 8. sinks faster and covers more area. I mean a lot more!
