Default Drain Plug Boat Light ??

I was about to buy one of those drain plug LED lights that light up the transom for my boat. They screw in the existing drain plug.
Any of you guys have experience with these?
What brands to look at ?

I can't speak about a drain plug light.. but i am sure if you find a quality one it will serve you well.

but about a year ago i made some of my own night fishing lights from some led's and even though mine are in mason jars and designed to be lowered down into the water.. they have worked great. it's amazing in 20 minutes how much bait will be swarming the lights.

the only info that i can really impart that might help in your search is... if you can find one that uses cree bulbs... those are the highest quality and brightest bulbs out there... much better than some of the chinese imitators... with that said... they will all probably work pretty good...

might just be a case of... buy a cheapo first to see if you like the concept and then if you do... buy a quality one when the cheapo craps out.

sorry can't be any more helpful than that..

that sounds like a very great creative idea and it would IMO make a great DIY post that others like me on very tight budgets would find very useful.

care to share and tell us how you did it? maybe some pictures of the process and them in use in the water
