Default Yamaha outboard problem

Got a yamaha 225 4 stroke that doesn't want to start. Motor is in neutral and and kill switch is in but the weird thing is the motor wont even crank. Everything is plugged in and right when i turn the key an alarm goes off for about 2 to 3 seconds and turns off! Batteries good because motor is able to trim up and down like normal. Anyone happens to know what could be the problem???

Had it been on charge? I've been able to trim up n down before and not been able to start bc of battery. Won't even turn over? Or it won't fire.

Also check the contacts going to the battery. Check for the simple things before you dump any money into it. Ex: gotta be something electrical or fuel related. If you haven't ran it in a while check the fuel like for kinks and where it connects to motor. Sometimes the ball check will stick. Then go from battery to key switch to motor trying to find loose connections and blown fuses etc... It's a 4stroke I'm pretty sure u gotta have a certain amount of voltage for then to start. I know optimax do for sure. Found that out the hard way.

Take ur cowling off and get someone to stand at the engine and listen to c if the electronic fuel pump is kicking on when you turn the key to on position. After your alarm goes off does it blink in any kind of sequence?

A broken ground somewhere. I had that issue once. Finally got my engine started but then I was unable to turn it off. Had to unplug fuel line and let it die. Finally found broken ground strap.

We could go threw a list of things it could be. Could be the neutral safety switch inside the control box.
