SPRINGTIME FISHING CONTINUES TO HEAT UP

Good catches this week continued even though strong and variable south winds blew across our lake most every day. Solid catches of big tackle busting redfish were caught along the ship channel as well the south end of the lake. Most all of the trout that we are catching are in the 17 to 20 inch range but waders throwing Corkys and top water baits are landing a few big girls. I expect to get on the water very soon and the trout will be eating BIG TIME. Call the "DUCKETTS" at 888.762.3391 and get a boat booked to get in on some of that. Here are a few pictures from last week and you can see them all by clicking here.

THE NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME TO CATCH SPECKLED TROUT

As June first gets closer Captain Jason Broussard and his crew readies the NIGHT STALKER for its 11th season on the water. This fully guided trip for 6 fishermen is the most popular trip at the lodge. The custom build 16' X 44' foot boat is pure fun, fishing, food and fellowship on the water. Call toll free at 888.762.3391 and check availability. We only run the boat until the end of October so get your reservation now. Click here for more information.

Check out your friends and buddies on our live and in living color dock camera near our cleaning house on our dock. Just click on the live camera link and take a look at our catch each day. Usually between noon and 2 o'clock is the best time to log on.

SALES, SAFETY AND TEAM BUILDING MEETINGS HERE AT THE LODGE

THIS WEEKS YUMMY RECIPE

As many of you know this very simple recipe is very easy and very good. You can add different spices to make it your own taste. I like to serve it with Ritz toasted chips. They are very good and don't break up when dipping.

Cajun Caviar
  • 2 cans blackeye peas, drained
  • 1 med jalapeno pepper, minced
  • 1/4 white onion, minced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Italian salad dressing
  • 2 tbs ground cumin
  • HR&G seasoning to taste
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne red pepper
Combine all ingredients. Serve chilled with your favorite chips or crackers.

My Thought – One of the best feelings in the world is knowing the your presence and absence both mean something to someone.

Have a GREAT week and remember "Ya shoulda been here Yesterday"
