Has plenty of power to pass. The 5.0 is a 4 valve motor and almost as much HP as the v-6 twin turbo that may kick in and run or not kick in and get you in trouble. I have heard to many stories of the twin turbo. I have a HHR SS with turbo and had problems with it nit kicking in the other day. Stepped on the gas a few weeks a go and broke the tires at 50 mph on the highway and 30 lbs of boost. Next time I hit the gas no boost and I had a 100 hp and it putted away. Just got the HHR out of shop $2500 replaced turbo and they just replaced the turbo and a solenoid. 55,000 miles ---I would buy another 5.0 in a heartbeat. Very satisfied.

I'm callin the ford 5.0 out. The 5.4 z pulls slightly worse than the 5.7 tundra.
