Tommy Guerra and Dave Wilson from Texas fished with me again today. Windy conditions kept us in protected areas. Our first stop found no trout but Tommy hooked into a 21.5 pound big nasty drum!!!! The fish hit his Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad under a cork. Tommy had a blast reeling it in and it was his first time catching one that big. Our second stop found Dave with a bent rod reeling in a couple nice reds and Tommy catching a nice flounder. We continued our drift and found a pocket of nice trout. They were mixed up under some mullet in 1-2 ft depths. We didn't set any records but for the conditions we put a nice little mess together and even missed several more. All trout caught on the Green Hornet Matrix Shad tight lined. We checked several other locations for trout and reds with no luck, so we switched to plan B and broke out the bait shrimp. We fished three points and caught reds, puppy drum, and one lonely bay snapper. The guys had fun and put together a solid mixed box for the conditions. We spoke to several other boats out today and most either scratched or had less than five fish. Thanks again guys for a great day and the continued business. I look forward to your return.
Big thanks to Capt Chris Venable for running the second boat with Bisso Marine. The guys also put together a solid mixed box of fish. Happy customers!!
I also want to thank Chef Rickie Daigle for the incredible entrees he prepared the last couple days. Everyone loved all meals and I'm sure we gained a few pounds!!!
