Default Mermantau River/Little Chenier 5/17

Took 2 of my Grandson's fishing Saturday in the Mermantau and the Fish Gods smiled on us. We made one stop and started soaking shrimp. Fish were slow to bite at first, then we began to catch some puppy drum, too small but the poles were bending. After playing catch and release for about an hour, we began to catch some nicer fish. We stayed in one spot and fished until the boys were tired of catching. Brough home 4 nice reds, 2 nice drum, 1 sheepshead (the boys were fasinated by this fish) and 2 croakers. We probably caught and released at least 20 - 25 drum, 2 reds, several croakers and a few hard heads. It was a great day with the kids, all smiles and we are ready to go again. I still cannot catch any crabs, we caught 2 while fishing. Oh well, had fresh catch of the day for dinner that night and great memories forever. Thank You God for all you have done for me!!!

That's awesome. Have a friend that has a camp down that way and been wanting to make a trip. Without giving GPS coordinates (unless you want to), can you give some pointers. Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.
