I just got back from my annual boat run there........this year we took a party barge from Diversion Canal in Port Vincent to Orange Beach.......got up Saturday and headed to Destin........is was a hoot.......always is.

The water is struggling to recover from the heavy rains and crab island water Saturday looked more like sweet tea then emerald green.

Not sure if that will have lasting effects on the fishing in August.

Under the lights as someone mentioned and I am pretty sure you can go om-line and find some public man made reefs.

I have pounded the snapper the last couple years stumbling across a reef or two.

Also, many captains down there will step on your boat and take you to private spots.

bottom fishing there is really really good.
