I have the same year and make, mine started ticking a while back. Figured out it was an exhaust leak on the right side the motor at the manifold. Talked to my mechanic and he told me the last bolt on the manifold breaks for some reason, said he has repaired many. Takes the right front wheel off and taps the bolt out the head. It's an irritating sound.
