The beach at grand isle has bars and troughs like any other. But at low tide you can wade out to the rock jetties that line the beach. High tide the water is deeper than 6 feet at the jetties . Deeper between the jetties. This is for the west half of the island .
East end has filled in more behind the jetties. Elmers island may be more to your liking as you can drive on the beach there. same type bars and troughs but no jetties.
