Well I have found the solution and have yet to have a cracked finger this year. I know it hurts like hell especially when it's your trigger finger or the thumb that you put shells in your gun with.

My solution:

Get some of the light blue Nitrile gloves ( I get mine from Harbor Freight for $7.99 per box of 100). Buy a thin pair of camo gloves that you can wear while hunting. I bought some Primos stretch fabric ones. Each morning before going hunting put a healthy amount of a good hand lotion on and then put on the nitrile gloves and then the camo gloves. The lotion will moisturize your hands and the nitrile gloves will make your hands sweat a bit keeping even more moisture on them. I also apply lotion throughout they to keep hands moisturized.

Some nights I even sleep with the gloves on after applying a very healthy amount of lotion. This further keeps them moisturized.

I hope this helps.

When I get home at night I soak mine in cider. Seems to help.
