I just tie a rope through the side rib and use it to tie the paddle up against the side off the floor.
I leave them in the boat year round so the weather gets to them and they kept falling apart with the elements until I made my own paddle and it last for 3-4 years or more before you need a new one. what I did was go to home depot and buy a pressure treated 5 quarter deck plank and then I cut 1 1/4" off each side (which leaves the handle 1" thick by 2 1/2" wide) all the way down to where the paddle end was and fourty fived it there leaving the last 18-24" at 6" wide, then I used a router to round and smooth the edges. this gave me a super strong paddle/push pole to use and you can sit in the front deck seat and easily paddle reaching both sides of the boat without needing to stretch or move from one side to the other to be able to paddle since the paddle is 6 ft long in my case |
