Default Predicting Tides?

Maybe someone can set me straight.

In my efforts to understand tides please inform me if I have this right.

Lets say I have a forecast of high tide at Calcasiu Pass at 14:00, and a high tide for Lake Charles of 19:00, If I wanted to know the high tide say for turners bay (about 1/2 way between the two) I would just split the difference? say 16:30 ??

I'm no expert but I believe it's about 3 to 4 hour difference depending on wind strength and direction and strength of tide

for simplicity, I cleaned up the numbers, I was using actual times, but changed it to 1400 hrs and 1900 hrs for ease of calculation.

You're on the right track. As stated, it will vary depending on wind and weather conditions. Once you get a season under your belt you'll have a better feel on a day to day basis. It just takes time on the water to be able to judge the tide in specific locations.

I found an app called "realtide" that actually calculates the tide at your current location. You can even save locations like turners and look at it later. It seems to be pretty accurate.

Also go here
http://m.waterdata.usgs.gov/

You can zoom into biglake and there is a tide station right in the middle of the upper portion of the lake. You can can compare it to other stations and get a reading too.
The data location number is 08017095 Calcasieu pass is 08017118

Also because the website it hard to figure out here is the screen where you can type in multiple stations or just one and get overlaid graphs to show the difference. Changing from say 7 day to 1 will show a more spread out timeframe.

Again if you check this against the realtide app it's pretty dang accurate.
