My wife is considering this kind of surgery. I'm trying to be supportive but I can't help but feel that a person could just follow the diet and do the workouts without a surgery. I mean you will have to quit the bad eating habits and work out after the surgery anyway so why not just do it without the surgery.

I'm not trying to be judgemental at all but the Dr. Recently told me my blood sugar was high so I changed my diet and lost 25 lbs in 2 months. We are in control of what we put in our mouths, with or without a surgery.

I would appreciate any thoughts or input.

Some people don't have the will power and the addiction is just too strong, the surgery may be the only way to break it.

For myself diabetes and a strong insulin resistance made it extremely difficult to lose. But without a doubt if you can do it without surgery. Do it! But if you need the help the surgery gives. Then take it.
