If it's good it's good. I'm 39 and on my 3rd truck. I hate working on my own stuff but I'll keep it intil it needs to be replaced. Bought my 07 gmc because the kids out grew the 89 yota xcab. Still wish I wouldn't have sold that truck though.

I was thinking of getting rid of my tundra with 255k miles. I guess I'll keep it for a couple of more years after seeing these posts about the new trucks not lasting

I just sold a 1992 toyota 4x4 to a friend that had 306k and it used no oil. And it was used as a side by side the last couple years. I have no doubt that it will make 400k if they keep it serviced. I have seen several diesel pickups with over 500k. Some of them were really abused as and still lasted.

If it's still a good ride I would keep it. Paying for general service and repairs is cheaper than having a truck note. We have some customers with some older vehicles that we maintain. If it's still a good vehicle we advise them to continue driving it and maintaining it. Sometimes though the best advice you can give them is to consider investing in a new vehicle. Yeah I won't be making as much $ from them but we are honest about what is best for them and that makes loyal customers. Repeat business keeps the doors open. |

Just got an '04 Tahoe with 68k on it. I'm sure it'll last a good while. Gonna change out the transmission fluid next week. Had to change the water pump gaskets and just put on a new water pump to be done with it since I already had it off. Other than that, I've put about 5k on it already and no problems. I know I'll end up changing out the fuel pump around 100k. Couldn't pass on the mileage plus having room for the family I know will be coming in another year or so.

My cousin traded his 04 tacoma with 380,000 miles on it and got $7,000 for it. All he did was change oil, brakes, and timing belt every 100,000 miles. It didn't burn any oil. I have a 2010 tacoma and i will never sell it. The gas mileage isn't the best but its paid for. I have owned every make of truck and Toyota is hands down a quality vehicle.

I have a 07 Chevy Avalanche with 225k. I hope son keeps it running a few more years. He got it when it had 125k. One transmission change when it was under warranty. I'm keepingmy fingers crossed.

I sold my 2000 7.3 2 years ago with 220,000. Only thing ever changed was the in-tank fuel pump, water pump, and alternator....oh, and tie-rods. I bought a 2013 F350 6.7. Got 55,000 on it. I like the 2013, but don't like the payment. Kinda wish I would have kept my 7.3 after hearing all the high mileage claims. Especially since I changed oil every 3-5k and serviced tranny every 25k. Man, I gave that baby away too...
