If your fans are properly sized for the size of your house...... they should save you some $$$ on the A/C cost.
When electric fans or Turbines are installed...... you must have proper air vents around your house to allow good air flow coming into the attic. Years ago, I stalled a fan on the house I lived in. I also had to add a bunch of vents under the eves. The fan would turn on about 10 AM and run until after the sun went down before it turned off.
