Seems like they've been denser, but yes, they're always around in numbers in the late summer. Make sure you're fishing over oyster reef and if you get into a bunch of them, it might require a move to get on a school of trout somewhere. Sometimes you can catch them mixed with trout, but I find you'll cull a lot of ladyfish to each trout. Better off just moving.

Yeah that was yesterday morning for me...was catching 1 trout for every 4 lady fish.

might be a good thing,
I found higher numbers of ladyfish seamed to coincide with high numbers of trout you catch as well. I think higher numbers of ladyfish must signal higher salinity or something, but I always have my best trout years at the same time I see increased ladyfish numbers. |

You know I was thinking the same thing about the salinity. And from reports some people got on them good. I did hear that trouts and reds were being caught in decent numbers at the 210 bridge working the drop offs. I wonder if some of the fish are escaping the high salinity or just enjoying the higher salinity that far north. Who knows...

They have been bad in big lake the past 2 weeks for sure. Those little bastards will hit just about anything you throw it seems like.

you could have fun with them, I have used a fly rod to catch them before and them suckers jump like tarpon and are a pure blast to teach kids to saltwater fly fish because the action gets them really excited about fly fishing
