Really depends on how thick the fish is. I target them a lot, and I've have ones in the 40 inch range go anywhere from 30lbs to 42lbs. That said, I find that the ones on the western half of the state tend to not be as thick and heavy as the ones on the east half of the state. Cocodrie and Venice produce very thick reds, whereas Vbay and Cameron Parish tend to have leaner reds.
