Update:
I changed battery and same issue slow trim or no trim, I hear relays opening and closing and if I tap on motor housing it'll work. I'm thinking it's time for a new trim motor. What do you guys think? I've never had trim/tilt issues on any previous outboards so this is a new one for me. Thanks for any advise!

Yep - I had mine go out last year and once I started tapping on the motor housing and it worked, I knew it was time to replace it. Sounds like you already ruled everything else out too

It sounds like it might be the brushes inside the motor.... about a $ 20 repair kit.

Would you buy a new truck...... because the tires are bad!

I thought about that also but I did notice some rust around the housing I will take it off this evening and see if it has rusted through and what it looks like inside. Reading forums Yamaha trim motor housing are not the best quality from what I have read. Thanks for the input!
