For a hand held I am a big fan of Garmin 76 series and I saw a guy with a new and improved? 78 series. It is in my opinion the best multi use hand held for on the dash of your boat or in your hunting vest or anywhere kinda tool. Mine's main function is speedometer for my rusty ole jeep. from there it goes either on my hunting vest or in the boat easily. It is even posed to float but I aint tried it. It has lived through several thunder storms good too. The only bad thing always remember to take the batteries outwhen not in use. They tend to corrode and eat up the connections for some reason. I learned that one the hard way.

The Garmin 72, 76, or 78 are all good. They are water proof as well and you can do a lot with them. I have the base model with the 78 that I put tracks, waypoints, and even have made custom aerial overlays with in Google earth to instal into it.
Another is an ap called GPS Tracks.. works pretty well, just getting used to using it. But my phone usually stays in the watertight box even though I have a life proof case. |
