Nice catch! I went yesterday eve. Kept 3 17"-18" released a 30" fish had 2 break me off in grass and hooked a shark... Should have had limit but I was getting trigger happy and missed 4-5 fish.

Default Don't think you can keep Spoonbill catfish

under any circumstances unless that changed in the last few years. My dad used to catch them around the Mermentau River area in gill nets back in the 80's. Then these guys from Tennessee I believe started wiping out the population for their caviar which resulted in them banning the catch of them. That's been a long time ago though so I'm not sure of current regulations.

Now you can keep two spoonbills if they are 30" or longer. Have to be caught on hook and line though and can't keep them if below the saltwater line.
