![]() My current dilemma is: What should be the right mixture of lights on my boat for any circumstance that I may find myself in? I have my accent lights to assist inside the boat. So that is taken care of. How about beyond the interior of the boat? Night fishing? I have underwater lights on the aft, and need a couple more to finish the project. What is your thoughts on above the water line? I was looking at some flush mounted flood lights such as the AUXBEAM LED lights. These lights would be for multiple reason such as docking at night, night fishing, or while at the house using it to light up my fish cleaning table. I was thinking one on each side on the stern, and one on each side mid-ship. thoughts on how other have done this? |

So I have decided to go with the nilight flush mount flood lights. Nilight is the only company that make them for a marine application, so it was an ease choice. My plan is to add two to the stern and then two mid ship one on each side. This will give me plenty of light above the water line.
Has anyone else done anything like this? |

I've kinda heard game wardens were cracking down on bow mounted led because they were causing people to wreck when 2 boats coming head on. I don't know if it's just a rumor or not, my buddy with an airboat had a warden stop him about his light bar. Being on the stern and mid-ship I don't think it would be a problem though.

I no it is frowned upon to use headlights. I am not planning on doing that... Just want the lights on the sides and art when fishing.
I have come to trust my garmin chartplotter. So headlights are not needed. Sent from my LG-V495 using Tapatalk |

A chart plotter is not radar. There are a 1000 things that can be floating or fixed in your path. Use a light and turn it off when passing someone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You have a great point and running at night right now has the pucker factor very high for me... but the fishing right now is so much better if you get there before everyone else. I have accepted that risk for the time. I plan to have a radar within the next six months to include the xm weather antenna as well.
