I have caught several 24" fish this year and even more 22-23"ERS. I've always thought that once u get to 23" fish is approx 3 pounds, and 24" is 4 pounds, 25" is 5 pounds, etc. I always have released anything 25" and over. Only two this year and both were 25". I need to get a scale. My lifetime best is a 29" er that weighed just under 8 pounds. My son and I were fishing middle of the lake with 3-4 other boats. We all ended up there running from thunderstorms. One of the guides asked the weight and i didn't have a scale so hollered the length. He said 8.3 is leader for CCA and it was 28" that I should go weigh it. Idk its skinny but we headed to Hebert's and weighed it. Fish died so I put it on the wall. Either a male or had spawned. Idk it was long and skinny. Still on the wall and I want one next to it but have never came close. Several 6 pound fish .
