In a situation where someone is drowning in the streets there isn't going to be anyone there from preventing you from saving them. Thats why the military standardizes it training. Its because you may not have ever met the person you are working with but you have both had the same training so you know how its going to go down. Same principle. Otherwise trained first responders end up being cat headers. Rounding up all the people trying to help but are really just in the way.

Totally agree with you Duckman....If bubba comes get me and he don't have no beer he will be taken care of....If he got some I hope he willing to share...Jokes aside if anyone ever suspects they might be involved with this at least take some kind of first aid course or better yet get with the local volenteer fire dept. you will get some training and the more vol. they have supposedly your fire ins. is bettered for the community...I for one hope I never have to wait for a professional to get me....I will catch the first banana boat out of town and that boat hopefully will be mine loaded with a bunch of people who just want to be on dry ground.....
