one cup of corn meal,one cup of flour,6 tbl spoons of sugar,4 teaspoons os baking powder,1 cup of milk,1 egg,1/4 cup of vegetable oil then blend together,and poue in a greased pan,preheat oven to 425 and back until golden brown!!

Yep except I don't like sugar in mine. Get your oven heated but also get that skillet hot on the stove top before you pour the batter in. You get that little fry on the bottom crust that is awesome. At least to me.

Big C's recipe is how we do it except for the sugar. I put one tblspn of sugar just to make the wife happy. I don't like sweet cornbread but that's just a personal thing.

Big C...that is almost what I do except I use buttermilk, add a teaspoon of Vanilla Extract and I substitute the vegetable oil with bacon grease; and I always use a black iron skillet. C'est des bon manger...that's some good eating...

I like it sweet because when I eat cornbread its with milk in a bowl,i also add more sugar in the bowl with the milk.

I eat it with milk in the bowl too and use steens syrup I also like sweet and jiffy is hard to beat. Try making waffles and pancakes with jiffy they are really good.

growing up my dad use too put a link or two of green onion sausage in a cast iron cover with water and boil until water gone then brown. eat it with corn bread and steens syrup on both.Damn good groceries.
