![]() Most helpful! Especially appreciated MathGeek's informative phone call. Now.. We will be coming in from East Texas on 49. When we get into Cajun Country, we will be looking for a good tackle store that will be along our route. Especially need to buy terminnal tackle to make some heavy duty leaders for sharks. Wire, sleeves, barrel swivels etc. Recommendations? Is their a decent ladyfish population around Camidina Pass? A decent restaurant on Grande Isle? Especially one that serves a really good breakfast. Is there a WalMart in one of the towns above GI? Best bait shop around the island? Thanks! |

in Galliano there is a super walmart and a keifs hardware store that has a very good fishing section with all the tackle you need.
farther down there are some bait shops in Leesville that sell live and market bait and smaller but well stocked tackle sections too. |

Stop at Tyds in Leeville to get tackle. They also have very fresh frozen bait usually. As far as live bait coastal bait on highway 1 has the best prices but is cash only. Sand dollar and bridge side each sell live bait also. I think the new marina wakeside also sells live bait now. There is also bait at the fourchon marina down floatation canal rd. There is a few restaurants on the island. All of them are pretty good

My teens and I love the Jo-Bob burger. But you are not in TX any more. Almost all the places you can eat on GI are pretty darn good. I don't recall ever having a bad meal there. Our experience with ladyfish around GI is that they are hit and miss, mostly miss, at least when we are there. Someone else may have the secret. Quote:
Enjoyed talking with you on the phone. Have a great time. |

Starfish is the place for food in G.I. Try the crab stuffed Japs if you go in for lunch or supper. Real good breakfast, Live and fresh Bait and terminal tackle i would go to bridge side or carmadels for live bait . wal mart is 40 min. away so get it on the way down. Sure way is the grocery store on the island and has most anything that you would need food wise. If you don't mind me asking Where are y'all staying on the island?

![]() If possible you don't want to buy gas on the island. They sell ethanol free at the marinas not sure about the gas station past the sureway. |

I'm assuming you've already made your trip, but Joe Bob's sells ethanol free gas. It is usually competitive with non-island gas stations as well. Not crazy overpriced. I'll be there tomorrow through friday if you guys need anything.
