It gets less wave action in SE winds because the jetties provide a bit of a shielding effect. I bet it will not get as stirred up by the predicted strong SE winds tomorrow so it should be clearer sooner than Holly beach proper and the other beaches further west. I also think the sand on the restored beaches in that area have less mud and smaller particles that tend to stay suspended for longer after things are stirred up.

If you stop and look at Holly beach and it looks muddier than you like, head down further E to the restored beaches closer to the jetties. The water there will be clearer.
