Default beaches?

Looks like hard north winds through the week and into the weekend.
If i had to guess id say a lot of that rain and fresh water has the beaches loaded with trout. Trying to learn. Would that be a good way of looking at it or no?
Might do some camping on the beach friday night and try my luck

Kinda what I'm thinking as well. But, it could be muddy from all the fresh water as well.

I'm guessing the mud won't sit down by Saturday?

It should. That's plenty of time.

Cameron Beaches were good on Monday. Tuesday's south wind turned them to mud. They still don't look good.

Default EOS

Nasa's EOSDIS image shows the beaches between the Calcasieu and Sabine Rivers clearing up.

Just curious. I've somehow never fished the beach down there. I have fished south padre beach. Just throwing gulp and done alright.

In SPI there's 3 sand bars, usually first one is only ankle or calf deep, so you go out onto it, then cast to or over the second sand bar, and reel it through the gut.

Would you do this the same way? May try it next time I'm down.

Went today just bc the weather was so great and I had some friends and fam that wanted to go. It was dirty, but we fished anyway. Nothing but hardheads.

Yep. I was watching ya'll in that nasty water. Too much wind from the east blowing water from the Calcasieu

yea, the same except much shallower beaches here and that causes more disturbance in water so the bars might be there and they might not!
