Default Cost to fish Today

Sometimes the hidden costs can kick your butt!!!!

So, yesterday as we were driving back from Okiehoma I thought you know................................Sunday would be a good day to take a boat ride. So, we stopped by Bas Pro and picked up a few topwaters, jigheads and some softbaits dropping $50.00

So this morning I fill up the tank in the boat on the way $60.00. Probably used $15.00 dollars in diesel.

Fishing was slow, I did not even get a bite the 1st 5 hours. I did manage to pick up a few on the way back in. Load the boat and head to the house. Great day on the water just not as productive as I was hoping.

Well, when I get home the wife decided to get in the boat and get a few things out for me. Well........................................this is where the hidden costs come into play!!!!!!!!!!!

As she was getting out of the baot she slipped and fell and hit her arm pretty hard on some landscaping bricks. She said she was ok nothing was broke, so we iced it down. Welllllllllllllllllllllll................. the pain just got worse and i convinced her to go top the emergency room, and sure enough it is broken. So add the ER costs to the trip.

Now, the really hidden costs come into play. AS we are driving home, she's like rutrow I'm not going to be able to bake!!!!. See, she usually makes quite few loaves of Bannana Nut Braed Cookies and all kinds of stuff. So, I said, "This trip is really going to cost alot isn't it?" She informed me that it definitely would. I guess I'll be Baking the Christmas goodies this YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep..... It sure does coast a lot to fish these days..... A guy once came fishing with me and was trying to cut cost.... I said look if you can’t afford to fish don’t try to cut the cost.....not happing.... You buy a cheap boat it will cost you double in repairs....If you buy cheap equipment it will cost you double in repairs........

nothing is cheep about saltywater fishing by far......If I had kids I know my time would be cut in 1/2 or more

Boat note is my biggest $$$.
Gas is second, but I can fish 4 or 5 trips before filling up.

After paying that, the rest is trivial.

As my brother-in-law told me, a boat is just a hole in the water that you throw money into. Couldn't be more true.

I basically gave up hunting bc of my wife and I am convinced that fishing costs a ton more. I did some back of the envelope math and came up with my cost per fish of $15/month. This is based on 4 fishing trips a month and 4 limits (generous, I know). Having said that, I wouldn't trade it for the world
