I asked myself the same question a few years ago. So I did some research. If you get down to the technical stuff the PS3 is BY FAR!!!! the better one. The XBox has pretty much reached the limits of the quality for its graphics. On the other hand the PS3 has barely scratched the surface of what they can do with it because of the BlueRay player. Also the PS3 has one of the best BlueRay players out, in it. It is something to do with the polygons they use to create the characters and all othe objects in the games. I might be off on the numbers but to give you an idea. It is something like the XBox can read like 1 million polygons per second. The PS3 can read like 30 million polygons per second. Hope this helps.
