Back at it this morning with my dad and my son who's in for semester break from A&M. We looked north and south for trout without signs or a bite. Threw suspending and sinking lures, sand eels, spoons and the rest of the tackle box without a bite. Circled back around and fished the west side and along the ship channel for a wind break and caught a few then finished up at the weirs and came back one short of our limit (only because I miscounted but we must have lost 6 or 7 at the boat) with 9 coming out of one hole alone on the back side of the rocks. Guys on the other side of us must have caught and released 40-50 reds while we were searching for our spot. Our catch included two bulls at 29" and 28". All caught on sugar and spice 3" shrimp gulp. The weather on the lake this morning was gorgeous but cold.
Earlier in the morning somebody was parked inside the "No Fishing" signs close to the 4th set of weirs and was haulin' in one red after the other. Came out after about a half hour smiling and saying "their biting on everything; go right ahead pull in". We said no thanks and watched him drive off. It would have been fun to see an agent pull up while the guy was there....
