Default Hopedale Trout Trip 12-31-09

It came down to the 9th inning with 2 outs before we were able to hit the walk-off home run to win the 2009 trout fishing game. Fritz20 and I went to Hopedale this morning at daylight and fish a solid 11 hours. We fished most of the day without much going on. We caught a couple here and there in the first three spots we fished in. Later in the day hooked up with three nice reds in about 4 or 5 casts. Decided to go back to one of the first spots we started in about 2:30 and the bite was on. Every fish we caught for about 25 fish were all keepers and some were solid trout. Picked up one here and there for the rest of the time to finish with about 65 on the day with 33 keepers. Every fish I caught today was on a chartreuse Tsunami Swim Bait. In fact it was on the same bait all day. By the end of the day it was destroyed but it made it the whole day. The fish didn't want anything this afternoon but a bait that wouldn't sink too fast. Fritz fished a jig head but they were not biting it at all. So, all in all a great day the weather was beautiful and the fish cooperated.

The only problem with a day like that is it makes you want to go fishing again right away. I know that this time of year that is probably a mistake.
