In the gulf, the top 6 or 8 ft. get cold, below that it stays about the same temp.
But in the river, the whole river can get cold due to all the water running out on
a low tide.

What I don't understand is how the water can stay so fresh. We have had low water
levels in the for the past month or more. It seems like the salt water would invade the
lake sooner or later.
