Just stay away from the Evangeline Thruway area between the airport and I-10, a lot of crime and drugs.
I was always told that if you lived north of I-10, you was a Yankee.
I live in Iberia Parish, about 3 miles south east of Youngsville. I love living here. 7 mins from Delcambre Canal boat launch. 12 mins from Academy on Amb Caff. I can't think of a bad place to live in Acadiana except the area mentioned before.

Yeh cool little spot. I lived off Catherine on Rene St. Loved it there. Just outgrew my 2 bedroom house.

Thanks! I'm definitely more of a country boy. I'll have to start scouting new areas to hunt and fish as soon as I move.

Thanks again everyone!

Single or married?

There are some FINE womenz in Lafayette Speaking from experience while out shopping with the wife - Target on Sunday mornings is a good spot, but Hobby Lobby on Johnston/Ambassador may have that beat. Went there twice last week with wife and

You will never ever run out of places to eat with good food either

Target for damn sure!!! Wal-Mart can have a few gems, but a lot of trash to go through first .

Never thought about Hobby Lobby..... You a smart fella!!

Those hipsters are some freaks too yea!

Bonefish got a lot of those high dollar cougars. It's like paper mache. It looks all pretty when it's done up, but get it wet it's just a soggy pile of crap. The younger ones there are just as broke as my a$$ looking for a sugar daddy or some douche in an Affliction shirt.

Screw an apartment and screw downtown. You want a good time in Lafayette, get a place with a porch and room for a bon fire! Let those city folk pay $3 for a beer while you sit on your ice chest and enjoy the crickets.

Food is great everywhere! If you don't mind driving a little bit farther (in all the bad traffic), you can rent relatively inexpensively by renting a few miles out of town, south or east is probably best. You have to get up a little earlier, but savings can be significant to renting in town. Get online with a realtor and they can give you an idea of what's available and where. If you have pets, boats, etc., a rent house 5-10 miles out of town can save you hundreds in rent every month.

You should take a step outside to the pool area. Don't get much better than Bourgeois.

Come to think of it I believe my landlord has a duplex available on Catherine just minutes from General.

I live in Delcambre and work right next to Lafayette General and it takes me between 35-45 minutes to get to work no matter which way I take, Verot to Pinhook or 90 to University or 89 through Youngsville & Broussard to Pinhook.
