for those fold over lever style plugs:

if its left outside in sunlight then I use the same rule of thumb as with tires and expect them to last no more then 5 years, but if its kept out of direct sunlight, I see no reason to ever need to replace it unless the rubber (neoprene or whatever its is) starts to crumble or show spider cracking in the surface

Default plug

Alpha the plugs aren't made with the same quality anymore, walmart ones are junk and don't last, i bought a "better" one from stines in broussard, the rubber is holding up better, but it does have a little bit of seepage through the center, i am looking for better quality plug as well

Thats, more what I was looking for with my question. Also the brass gets corroded with green stuff and it's hard to turn to tighten. Especially the kind that has the T. .

try to get the ones with the loop, but make sure the loop goes up away from the bottom line of the boat
