Friend is coming over tomorrow morning and wants gafftop and sheephead. Which is better, froze or fresh skrimps for these species and why?? Where should we start and will 50# PP be heavy enough line??

Dead shrimp and cut mullet for dem gafftops, they seem to love that. Ive only caught one sheeps head and it was a 2in dead pogey that I dropped in front of its face. Is your friend from texas or mississippi

Okay, for gaftop, live or dead. For sheepshead, live is much better.

Fly fisherman consider a sheephead a Louisiana permit. They hardly ever eat an artificial.
