Hard to let em go

Well just dropped my oldest son Garrett off, he's headed to Fort Jackson, S.C. for Boot Camp. Between Boot Camp & AIT he'll be gone 5 1/2 months. WERE SUPER PROUD of him! But it's still hard to see them leave. I know he'll do awesome, still hope & wonder if I've done everything I could to help prepare him to handle what's to come. That is some great boys you have raised there and one thing is for certain, they will defiantly not have to show him how to shoot a gun or survive in the wild! I truly believe Garrett is going to far exceed the other soldiers for all the reasons y'all just stated! The National Guard is gaining a very unique and talented young man. And yes, very emotional watching him hug his brothers and dad goodbye and see the nerves he was trying hard not to show. We will miss him but know that this will prepare him to do anything in life he ever wants to do! Love you Jeff

If it's like it used to be ,don't expect to hear from him for 3 - 4 weeks.
You know you raised them boys right and that will help him rise above the others.
