Default Surf Fishing Grand Isle for Bulls and sharks

The peeps have started to discuss their desire to hit Grand Isle sometime this fall. We're regulars at Holly Beach and Rutherford, but have not yet tried our hand chasing bull reds from the beach at Grand Isle. My impression is that the water gets deeper more quickly there so casting distance is not as critical. Is this right?

Any other tips for chasing bull reds, drum, and sharks form the GI beach?

We like the bridge and also plan to fish the pass in the boat, but there are times when we just like to sit on the beach and relax. All tips and tricks and experiences are appreciated.

The beach at grand isle has bars and troughs like any other. But at low tide you can wade out to the rock jetties that line the beach. High tide the water is deeper than 6 feet at the jetties . Deeper between the jetties. This is for the west half of the island .
East end has filled in more behind the jetties. Elmers island may be more to your liking as you can drive on the beach there. same type bars and troughs but no jetties.

Thanks for the tips. Driving on the beach is great, but letting the kids just fool around on the beach close to where we are staying is even better.

Some time this fall. We are deconflicting schedules now. Maybe late Nov or early Dec.
