![]() The closures are really starting to put the squeeze on our fishing 'DOWN IN DULARGE'. We are fortunate to still have some great fishing areas open deep in the Dularge marsh in regards to redfish. Our most productive locations to catch trout at the barrier islands are shut down and we'll be lucky to see it reopen at all this summer. The ship shoal platforms in federal waters are still open but we'll have to cross closed water to get there and back. Not sure if thats legal or not? My customers and I enjoyed a good redfish bite this weekend with limits of nice fish. We hit the deep Dularge marsh armed with white spinner baits, gold spoons and LSU chubs each day and smacked the reds every day! We caught over 125 reds in 3 days with most of the fish being caught in less than 2 ft of water. Big fun in the ponds with reds ranging from 16 in.- 30in. I have 0 trips this week as every day has been cancelled. All out of state trips were lost and all business related to the Houma Oilmans Tourney has been scrapped. Just taking one day at a time as thats about all we can do. Capt Bill Lake 985-851-6015 985-637-3712 |
