Default Tough day in V. Bay

Went to vbay today, docked at cypremort point. Wind forecast was off once again,1-2 footers heading to trash pile. When I got close to mud point there was already 40+ boats around the pile. Water looked great with bait everywhere. I did not feel like fighting the crowd to get to the prime spots, stayed away from everyone. Bite was very soft, felt like you had grass on your line(thank you power pro). Caught them on purple/char jerk jr's with a 3/8 jighead slooooooow on the bottom. Was tough fighting the wind and all the yo yos running around, but caught a few. Highlight of the day....I was reeling my bait in to cast and I felt a pull, but no strike.I continued reeling and I see a trout, but its not on my hook. Come to find out I had someones line with a trout on one end,and a rod and reel on the other. Was great to soak up some sun a feel a few headshakes. The trout are there, just got to fight the crowd and fish SLOW!

yea it was pretty slow today we left there at 11 they just didn't bite like saterday and sunday. the yo yo's will be gone during the week so you could probably get on a good bite. oh we only had three trout one red today. had a good weekend in v-bay its fun to be able to catch trout around this area and not have to pull the boat 2 hours.

Wish I woulda known you were out there, my brother and I got to trashpile around 10 10:30 and when I saw all the boats there I just passed it up and went on the east side of shark bayou and beat the banks but didn't even get a nibble. We tried everything from crawling it on the bottom to throwing under a popping cork. Also hit everywhere between shark bayou and the game warden camp by redfish point but nothing there either. The bay was slick calm on that side but I had to cut through Fearman and take the Intracoastal back because it may have been a lil too rough to cut back across in my boat.

We fished in weeks bay and shark bayou as well with no bites. The water was super clear with bait everywhere, but no bites.

just need that bait to stick around those trout will be stacked in there or around there when all the pressure gets off the water. hope it stays good in v-bay cause no telling when they will open the waters in cocodrie i bet the trout are stacked up so thick right now it would be so sick.

Yea I haven't seen some pretty water like that in a long time around there. Now granted, I don't go as often as you guys, I maybe get a chance to go 5 or 6 times a year and it's usually under the worste circumstances.

fishing was definitely tough at the bay this weekend. I was there saturday and came home with only 3 reds. Didn't land a trout (we stayed away from trash pile). Yesterday we tried to go out and the weather chased us back to the pass. Spanish were hitting like crazy, but couldnt get a hookup for nothing. Went back out but it was too rough and no tide was moving. Caught about a dozen big sailcats for fun. Back to the trash pile only 15 boats, i knew they weren't doing anything. caught two trout one small one keeper that we threw back.

Nice catch tho. What did you catch that rod and reel on? I need to get me some of those.

We had a tough day Saturday as well, we were in Oyster Lake in the island and there was bait everywhere, tide was moving too, we went home with one flounder. What a difference from one week ago. Oh well, I'd rather go home with one flounder than 25 trout and a headache from figting all of the boats on the trashpile!!!
