I plan on taking my wife in the morning. Went with my dad Friday and had fun catching a few Reds & Trout in Turners Bay under the birds. Was amazing watching the fish chasing the bait. Saturday took my son & his friend to the West side of Black Lake and caught a few Reds, no Specks to be found. Most productive bait was a glow/chartreuse cacahoe (spell check not working on this one but you get it... Lol). Will likely start in Turners tomorrow and hope to see the Reds boil the water again so my wife can see it. Good luck to those going tomorrow.

Thanks ***! and Welcome! GL to you this morning in turners and I hope i can put my wife on some fish. That means at one point im gonna have to stick live shrimp or mullet on her line. She's not much for retrieving all morning but loves reeling em in. Probably gonna start on the south end beating up some banks early w/ the high tide in and running a triangle around the lake. Who knows

Default 8-24 report from BL

Nothing! Talk about rustty..sheez. Launched at Heberts, fished some ole faithfuls, raked some banks, reefs, and ledges, NADA. Not even the first hit!??....Idk....only fished a couple hours....just didn't see the axn or slicks etc. Did see shrimp skittering around but couldn't spark any interest. Maybe i'll have better luck tomorrow w/ Mr. Unofficial!

Nothing......and your wife tied live shrimps? Maybe they wanted Shad today.

Was there any water movement. Looks like the tide came up early this AM.

I caught some Trout last trip on live shad near deep water.....not many, but nice size.

Nah....she slept LOL! I thought they sold live shrimp at Heberts now but i guess i was wrong. Had the cast net out but couldn't round any live bait up. Gonna go every morning til i'm successful. I wanna feel the heads shake! Think i'll start launching at Calcasieu and make the run south..maybe make some live bait night trips w/in the next few weeks. Suppose to cool off a bit Thurs (high 86) that'll be nice.

I got some less than a month ago but I called the afternoon before to make sure they were going to have some.

Calcasieu Pt usually has live shrimp......starting ~ 6 AM.

The shad can be caught "anywhere" in the area. There are some schools of finger mullet also.

Last trip I went out there the trout were loving carolina rigged finger mullet. I was using a 3/8 weight and dragging it slow...they would not hit it if you put it in the rod holder and let it sit.

We had Murphy follow us all morning. To start with, the tide was not moving which should have been a good indication to go back to bed. Electronics would not power up and trolling motor did not start working until a hour before we came in. Started at Turners, no luck, headed South to West Cove, found plenty of bait and saw a few fish but no luck, finished at 9 mile where the birds were working, bait was jumping and saw fish but still no luck. Had one bite all morning. Dropped off the boat to get trolling motor fixed, hope to get it back soon and try some night fishing.

Hope your trolling motor problems don't hinder any time on the water...thanks for updating
