My neighbor's wife is thinking about getting her husband a Cajun Microwave type cooker for Christmas. I am not sure what brand she is looking at. They asked me about them. I have never used one but have heard they cook well. My question is how well do they hold up? Do they rust out in our climate? Any recommendations for what she should get? She said the one she is looking at costs about $1200 and you can get scenes or words engraved on the sides.

I have been having a Al Simon's Cajun Mircowave for 5 years and it still looks like the day i got it. Mine is made out of stainless and cypress wood the price is a little high but well worth the money to me.

They cook poultry better than most cookers.
Just inject, season and put in the cooker. I have a home made small one. Great for Pork and Chicken/Turkeys. No much to do but let cook and drink beer. Mine is stainless inside and top with wood sides and hard plastic wheels. Heavy, but nice. |

For big pieces of meat the cajun microwave is the way to go. For everyday grilling and smoking I highly recommend a Big Green Egg. The wife got me one as a present and I love it. Typically cook on it several times a week.
