Cheers sigma barrel swap

Can you swap out a .40 caliber barrel for the S&W Sigma for the 9mm barrel? I would like to shoot some ammunition thats a little less expensive.

I would certainly think so......I had one in 40 and looked over a 9......looked to be the same barrel size, justd different bore......BUT the spring tension may be different causing the 9 to jam b/c of less recoil, I.e. not pushing the slide back far enough to eject and reload......call a gunsmith???

I agree with LP the factory trigger on the sigma sucks but if you send it in to LSG Manufacturing which is an authorized S&W gunsmith and he can re-work the trigger to be a much lighter and easier pull. Ask for Frank Smith (325)885-2700 he did a great job with mine. And as far as the price difference in ammo, the difference between them isn't enough to sacrifice the amount of knock down power.

thats right, I reload 200 gr hollow points, I bought a box of 1000 and 500 molly coated lead bullets that shoot good and they don't melt in my glock barrel either.

I know the trigger sucks, but its the only safety and it takes a MAN to pull it back.

the only reason I mentioned about the trigger, is because most people who don't know how to hold a gun (95% of gun owners) put there finger on the trigger and while jerking back on there 12ld trigger they turn their wrist just enough to point the barrel where the projectile hits inches off there target. most people go shoot at a silhouette at a range and are satisfied that they hit such a big target at a long distance, I go and try to make a 3-5 shot group where all my shots touch each other and the only way I can do that is by focusing on the front sight, keeping my gun steady and squeezing back on the trigger while keeping my focus on the front sight. I can keep that gun more steady, better with a short light trigger because the gun goes off a lot faster, check out a gun with a ghost trigger or a 3.5 ld trigger both very different but helpful when target shooting.

I'll be the first to say that I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't notice any less stinging, ok, agonizing pain from a 9!

I know that in some handguns you can switch barrels between 40 and .357sig but I don't think the same applies to 9... different size casing...
