Default Need help for trolling motor

I have been having trouble with my trolling motor. Its a minkota rip tide 80lb. I have a new shaft , bearings, brushes, and new batteries. This thing still won't pull my boat and only last about 25 minutes. That's with 2 new hot momma batteries. Its been to dhp twice. And info would be helpful.

If you had to have new shaft, bearings, etc.......sounds like it got major damage done to it.

Maybe the motor shaft is also bent. Try turning the prop with your hand and then do the same on another Trolling motor to make a comparison. Does the motor run smooth while it is out of the water? When you turn it off [out of the water] how fast does the prop stop turning? Compare that to another TM.

If you hit something to damage the TM...... maybe the motor mounting brackets [they are probably plastic] broke and the motor is "in a bind".

Could the problem be as simple as....... there is some fishing line wrapped around the shaft just behind the prop?
