Just bought a boat with a 94 Merc 90hp. I plan on trying to go through everything in the motor that i can. the motor hasn't been run in a year or so. Can you experienced guys give me a list of things to check and/or change.

I would change the water pump,fuel filter,spark plugs,ect. Be ready to clean the carbs if it sat up for a year. You might get lucky,but with todays gas it does not take long.

u can also spray a can of sea foam deep creep into the carbs while it's idling to make it run smoother/start easier

spray some, rev it slightly, spray some more then kill it, repeat....then change the plugs after it stops smoking.
