Default Galveston Island this weekend

I am taking my wife for a quick weekend getaway to Galveston. Any suggestions for food, entertainment, etc. would be appreciated.

TIA.

"The Spot" on the Seawall is a cool place to to eat and drink. Also there are some good places @ The Strand to eat and shop. If you go to the Strand, make sure you go to the old fashioned ice cream parlor and candy store (don't know the name of it). It's awesome an is designed like an old general store. Don't know much about the nightlife. Moody Gardens is a cool place to visit as well as Schlitterbahn Water park. There's a nice golf course near Moody Gardens if y'all like to play.
If the surf is flat, GO Fishing. The trout are there!!! Plastics, Tops and live bait are all working. Hoping to hit it next week myself. If you don't have/want to get a Texas License, go to the State Park and pay the entrance fee. Fishing in the Park is free and there are restroom facilities on the beach.
Hope this helps.....
Have a great time!!!

Fish Tails and Gaidos are good too. Fish Tails is right across from the old Flagship Hotel.
