Default 6/29 delacroix

Last week, I got a private message on another message board I frequent; microskiff.com. A guy ,Russ from Tampa, Florida was gonn be in town for business and was looking to go fishing. I happened to have a day available and we made plans to meet up on wedneday June 29th. I love taking people out and letting them experience the great fishery we have here in Louisiana. this was his first fishing trip to Louisiana and I was a little nervous about taking him out and putting him on fish. We left Sweetwater marina at daylight in search of some beautiful bronze pond pumpkins! He wasnt on the platform for five minutes at our first stop, when he spotted his first fish cruising towards him. he made a perfect cast with a gold spoon and his first Louisiana redfish was on the line! he landed a 26 1/2" 8.5 lb beauty, we saw over 25 fish that day and landed 12 big fat redfish. He was amazed at the quality and quantity of fish we have here. I poled up an a small school of 6 fish where we ended up hooking up a double! overall it was a great day sightfishing in the Delacroix marsh, and he cant wait to get back down here!

Nice catch. I'm taking the wife and 5yr old to Delacroix on Sunday. Try and get a few trout early then to the orange cone. They have been there for over a month. If you gonna be around there Sunday give me a shout. Chad (504)606-9538. Or if you see a black tahoe at TAGFU stop by and drink a beer or ten.

The grass is thick! But it filters the water very well. Ive been poling deep in the grass beds fishing the troughs between the bank and grassbeds. Its like fishing in an aquarium! No way you gonna run a trolling motor in there

Love me some Dela Croix! Awesome work bud, showed my bud from Florida some Louisiana reds and he kept trying to lead them. Told em, "hit em on the head!" He did and it just blew his mind. He wanted to beat that pond up the whole day but I had a tourney there. Hahaha

Big Lake does have marsh like those compariable to Dela Croix.. Trust me its out there

There out there in the marshes. Not every year, but most years. I know where several are usually at.
